Within this decade, an estimated 250.000 people will move to Berlin. In December 2013 COBE Berlin was commissioned to study the possibility of publicly-owned, affordable housing at the edge of Tempelhof Field, along the street of Tempelhofer Damm, one of the main traffic burdened streets in Berlin.
The referendum on 25 May 2014 leaned against any development of Tempelhof Field.
